The mouse eats 3 AAA's every 8-9 days with average use. (1-2 hours) If you use anything that requires heavy mouse activity, expect even less. Intel will not be releasing any new drivers and it works ONLY with the beta drivers on win2K. Plus the gamepad has NO win2K drivers, meaning they also probably don't have any XP drivers. That said(and I hate this saying with a passion) ENJOY!!!

I have this same intel setup and my mouse only goes through batteries every 3 months. I use it on average of 3-4 hours per day. The driver on the included cd puts the mouse in some kind of "sleep mode" which conserves the batteries. If you just let windows recognize and install the mouse system you will get about 7 days out of a set of 3 AAA's. Just my $0.02.

Rock123.....I'm assuming you're using Windows 98...the comments I made are reflective of Win2K and since XP is based on Win2K, I;m assuming the same 'mouse battery' problem will occur. If you ARE using Win2K, please post how you get the mouse to recognize the drivers. ALSO (you'll love this, typical Intel) The tech support guy said to cover the mouse with a rag or something, or take the batteries out when I'm not using it.....(brain surgery at its best)

Thanx

Aphex...have you tried the XP drivers? Just curious if they help the longevity of the mouse batteries....seems like the Win2K drivers will never be updated, they're still beta. Also tempted to try the XP's with my Win2K setup

The gamepad works great (especially with that N64 emulator... hehe). Been using it extensively for a few months and it's still going. The mouse on the other hand is utter crap. It needs batteries constantly. And there are drivers for both 2k and XP. I've tried it with both sets of drivers and they work fine on my systems (besides the problems listed in their readme files).
