Will this improve boot times? Or is it just to make the drives compatible with older hardware?

Based in the release notes
https://downloadmirror.intel.com/23..._for_PCIe_Driver_1_3_0_1007_Release_Notes.pdf

New for this release:
• Windows 10 Certification
• Single installer for both x32 and x64 based Operating Systems.
The following was fixed in this release:
• After uninstall device shows an “unknown device” now will report as PCIe device.
• BSOD when installed on systems with 0x120 logical cores.
• Installer using silent install does not copy the license

Is that KL with 4HT ? 288 logical CPUs sound about right. Nice to see NVMe beeing tested there. Really looking forward to it.

The slow boot issue was fixed in the last firmware update. It will be released to the public soon in the new Intel SSD Toolbox 3.3.2 but I got it earlier using the Intel SSD Data Center Toolbox
