intel vs amd

I have an AMD 5400+ overclocked to almost 3.2 and i only get a 5.5 while my friends e6600 gets a 5.9

why is that?

What CPU is the best at the moment and is there some kind of benchmark available for all the new cpus?

thats a pretty old review and my cpu isnt even listed anything more up to date? like including the 6000+ into the benchmark?

You mean like this one where its still barely keeping up a 2.4GHz E6600 at 3.0GHz??

how its still getting ass kicked at some apps where Core 2 Duos are so ahead that even the FX-74 is on par with dual core E6750??

The 6000 is faster than the 6600 in some benchmarks and about the same speed in the rest. The CPU is also priced much more aggressively than C2Ds and the platform (AM2) has an excellent upgrade path (e.g. you can update the BIOS on most AM2 boards to support AM2+ and AM3). So it has some very distinct advantages.
