Oh Lord, not again... :D

Actually both are relatively fast, I prefer AMD over Intel a just because of the price factor mostly (1. AMD CPUs are much cheaper, 2. DDR is much cheaper than RDRAM, and 3. Socket A mobo's (AMD) are cheaper than 423 or 478 (Intel P4))

if the AMD 1.53GHz and the P4 2.0GHz were the same price, which would I get? Probably the AMD, just because it performs slightly above Intel on testing, IMO...

Both are nice and fast, though :D

No doubt this will either turn into a big flame war or a huge neffing contest. Why don't you go troll somewhere else?

AMD system sitting right beside me, but I'm still an Intel fan.

A Tiger MP was just too hard to pass up.

Currently:

Fong Kai - FK320 (black)
Enermax 451 P/S
Tyan Tiger MP
Dual 1.2 GHz TBirds
512 MB Crucial registered DDR
Matrox G450 Dualhead
40 gig Seagate Barracuda IV
16x CDR

Next on the list:

IBM P96 19" flat screen monitor (black)
Replace Enermax with their new whisper model 431W
2x Athlon XP's (probably 1800's)
Replace retail Athlon coolers with dual Taisol CGK760's w/ultra quiet fans
Get black CD/DVD/CDRW drives, keyboard, & speakers

Then I need to quit upgrading for a while & finance a car.

This same old argument NEVER gets old.

Always fresh new BS being thrown about by both sides.

Intel over AMD, yeah you pay more, but the facts are you save money in the long run not having to screw around with the computer all the time trying to get it stable.

I know what you mean. When I built my current AMD system it went right together and worked from day one. If I had bough an Intel chip for more money with more expensive ram and a higher priced motherboard I would have saved nothing.
