Intel vs AMD benchmarks

I have read almost all comparisons I could find. But I have not see one done with F@H. If I were to build a dedicated F@H rig, would the FX-8120 be better than a 2600?

I dont think so, not with current software. Core i7 is faster and draws less power. I dont know if they have changed the code to take advantage of BDs new ISAs yet.

CMP has the better scaling followed by CMT and with HT having the lowest.

Who cares? even if there is greater thread performance scaling with CMT, overall the CPU's using it are slower.

Seems like the general opinion is that bulldozer is slower than a 2600 and uses more power.

Who cares? even if there is greater thread performance scaling with CMT, overall the CPU's using it are slower.

We know that ht is around 30% but i would like to see how well the cpu does with its bus and bandwith with 12-16 threads.The x79s could widen that scaling gap

Well, when and if i will be fortunate to have a 12 or 16 thread CPU i will update the slides, count on it
