Can someone point me to an article that compares Intel's latest with AMD's latest, and also the differences between AMD chips?

i'm an Intel guy looking to make the switch.. thanks!

yeah CPUs..sorry.. was looking at Anand's AMD roadmap for 2006, but was looking for something that kinda compares Intel vs. AMD in terms of performance (as I know it's not all about GHz), and also the differences within AMD (Clawhammer vs. San Diego, etc). thanks!

I found a bunch of stuff by Googling Intel vs AMD. Some of it's older, some new. There is lots of info and it's difficult to give you a defiitive answer. Personally, and IMHO I would go with AMD for the price/performance ratio on the single core end. With dual core, it's a different story.

Just my .02

Might look HERE. The home page looks a little dated, but there's more recent in some of the links.

Might wanna send Duvie a PM (he's an elite member). He's done a lot of work with Pentiums and lately the a64 systems. IIRC, he's run a bunch of benchies comparing the cpu as far encoding too.

As far as gaming, there's a bunch of stuff out there. Usually when benching new gfx cards they compare intel/amd too.

Athlon 64 3000+ with a Venice core has great overclocking potential. It's currently tops for cost/value.
