INTEL DEVELOPER FORUM, SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 17, 2004 - Dolby Laboratories and Intel Corporation today announced cooperative efforts to extend the consumer electronics (CE) sound and entertainment experience to the PC based on Intel® High Definition (HD) Audio - or Intel® HD Audio for short. As part of the Dolby PC Entertainment Experience Initiative*, Dolby is launching a new Integrated Audio Codec Licensing* program and a PC Logo Program* featuring world-class Dolby Surround Sound* technologies.

...

Using HD Audio codecs that include Dolby premier technologies, PC manufacturers will be able to offer PCs with integrated system-wide support for the following Dolby® premier technologies; Dolby Headphone, Dolby Virtual Speaker, Dolby Digital Live, and Dolby Pro Logic IIx.*

I'm not entirely sure what Dolby Digital Live is, unless it's actual real-time Dolby Digital encoding. :D Dolby doesn't mention it on their site (that I could find) but I Googled it and found this page on the CM9780+ that has it (btw, where IS this chip?) and it looks like a RTCE.
