Hi.

Intel are finally going to switch over to 64bit

Will this make them a better option than AMD64???

Already posted in another thread.

It was said that AMD's Athlon 64/FX/Opteron was better than Intel's EM64 @ 64-bit computing

They are stable for me across the range of tasks and games I do, I just have to use the nV LAN instead of the Intel gigabit one on my AN50R so that all functionality is present. Imagine that, Intel not yet releasing 64bit drivers for my AMD64 platform ;) Performance doesn't suffer much either compared to XP PRO 32bit so I'd say things are coming along nicely.

Wow.... I only have to go in about 3 post in this place (GH and CPU forums) to realize why I have not been hanging around this site much....These new members are sickening....

I gave AMD the benefit when the opteron arrived and the numbers didn't look stellar...I said wait and lets see reputable sites and test with the finished product....

It appears the young AMD gamer only crowd is as intelligent as I give them credit for...

Geeh I wonder why the last amd/intel thread was locked???

Duvie is an Intel Fanboy, if you aint guessed

Duvie is now going to say I'm an AMD fanboy

But what does that change ?

Nothing.

So, you think AMD has some new young/gamer types coming onboard to the forums, AMD do excel in gaming, so I dont think its bad If they get followers in the game arena.

Dont worry Duive, Intel still has its 80 something % markey share or whatever. But dont come down on a few because the like the underdog becaues of thier gaming advantage. I read media/intel threads all the time but i dont get upset by it.

Well intel did not COPY they exactly. In fact AMD added a couple parts to their 64bit part after intel copied them. So I am couris to see if program makers use the extra amd part and how much difference it makes. Also AMD may have made their part ti run a on strong IPC they CPU so that could hurt intel also.

Will have to wait and see, but amd does have the lead right now. Also can't wait to see how they add it to the P-M chip that will replace the P4 setup (netburst)

Maybe you should THINK before opening your mouth. Goto the CPU / OC section index, open the sticky thread at the top and see just how big of a fanboy Duvie is. Go on, do a search as well... What does Duvie use a computer for? Which CPU does that better than the other? Until you know what you're talking about, keep yer grubby fingers from typing rubbish.

Everyone repeat after me:

"IT'S JUST A CPU"
"IT'S JUST A CPU"
"IT'S JUST A CPU"
"IT'S JUST A CPU"

Good.
