Here's a interesting newsbit from intel on the future of chips:

http://dailynews.yahoo.com/h/cn/20011007/tc/intel_to_reveal_chip-packing_breakthrough_1.html

I particularly like this paragraph:

"The company says the breakthrough will play an essential role in allowing processing power to grow. Five years from now, microprocessors will run at 20GHz; they'll need to issue and receive a vast amount of signals and will require a high infusion of electricity."

Forget the AthonXP 1800, I'm waiting for the Athlon ZXP 20000+

New Intel processors will include flux-capacitor chip and will require a power supply capable of 1.21gigawatts. Probably the upcoming emermax EG1210000000P-VE (FC) should suffice.

ahem........

<< They are going to revamp the connections by surrounding the chip instead of having the CPU sit on top. The way they described how this BBUL works sounds similar to the human brain. >>
