Since I've never paid attention to release dates before, but Sunday?

Is Sunday Intel's usual release day of the week?

What difference does it make what day it is? Should it be Tuesday religiously?

Simply a question, I thought that's what forums are for.

Thanks for your considered reply.

Sorry if my answer seemed snappy. It doesn't translate well in just text. Just to let you know, it wasn't. :D

Well, they do price cuts on a Sunday, so why not?

aren't their released dates scheduled by their fiscal year rather than the calender year?
I suppose it make easy to see profits and losses based on when they release new products.

Sunday is an odd day as many reporters have the day off and some media outlets do not publish. But I think most publications already have their Wolfdales and are fully tested. They are just waiting for the non-disclosure period to be lifted so they can release their stories, but perhaps on Monday when they are back at work.

The Wolfdales have been in production for months, but Intel is sitting on the stock, probably so they can clear out their Conroe inventories at a higher price. I predict retailers will have Wolfdales in stock and available for sale by Monday morning (the 21st). Intel could of released the Wolfdales in November, as originally scheduled, but the mis-steps by AMD has pushed things back.

My local store's seller told me that my reserved E8400 will arrive either the 23rd or 24th, and at the very latest 25th.

Intel always launches stuff on Sundays for as far as I can remember, not that I exactly track these things. I'm fine with it so long as the physically launch as I want one by the end of the week.

For pick-up at the store as well as for delivery (of course, because then the store will have it).

The sabbath is saturday... due to a mistranslation/mistake christians celerbrate it on sunday.. You better hope your god is a forgiving one...
Anyways, the point of this is that companies will have time to put things on shelves, and that customers will have a day to read reviews, so that people can start buying them on 8am on the 21st, on monday.
