An article in: theregister.co.uk/ of 7-19 says Intel will drop prices for the Pent. 4 processors up to 55% on 8-26. AMD will be sure to follow their lead. So if a few weeks aren't that important you might save some money or get a faster chip for the same price. Oh, by the way, they announced another price cut sched. for 10-28 around the introduction of their 2Ghz chip.

i dont check the other forums nearly as much as the hot deals forums. THANKS A TON for this info... because i need to build a new system and I was about to purchase an AMD 1.33 thunderbird, looks like if i wait another month, i should see a pretty saving in price...i can handle waiting another month since i already have a system.. just looking for a second one.

Yeah, but I'll bet you that AMD is gonna announce price drops on T-birds around the same time Intel's drop on P4s.

Wow! AMD is going to end up out of business or just barely clinging on in the next couple of years. With the .13 micron fab process Intel can cut its production costs by 1/3 & keep pressure like this on AMD.
