HMC and HBM are the future. DDR reached their limits.

BTW... Sandy Bridge was the biggest improvement from Intel in the latest years (up to 35% more performance compared to Nehalem)
 
Yeah in the review they state Sandy's days are over... I wonder if Intel paid them to say that. Not exactly seeing booming performance increases. 25% in some specific apps requiring an entire platform upgrade...?
 
Pretty disappointing improvements
Oh and that horrible overclock. I'm keeping my 4770 for sure. Might have to jump to 5960X soon.
 
seems like just yesterday i was reading broadwell overclocking reviews, now skylake is out?
 
Actually looks quite consistent to me 🙂

I like the look of Skylake as a range of chips, the ones just released/reviewed rather less so.

Reviews are all over the place. You can't draw conclusions from a single source (Anand) so after reading more reviews with better/faster memory and higher overclocks i did change my perspective. It's not that bad ya know?
