Article says it all, hope this isn't a repost.

What does Intel think they're doing? They can't outperform AMD, so they'll bribe software vendors into crippling anything and everything on AMD chips? Come on!

Don't take it personally. It's just business. And Intel does seem to be getting on the ball again, so whether or not they will be able to outperform AMD remains to be seen. I believe they will be competitive at the very least.

What Intel is doing is just anti-competitive. Anti-competitivness never leads to better products. Only hurts the consumers. It is a weak stab toward AMD to try to fight back. Stuff like that will only help AMD's lawsuit againts Intel.

I don't know if it'll help AMD in their case or not, but it certainly leaves a bad aftertaste . . .

its business.... Intel have all the resources... who knows Intel did all the codings for skype. It just the same as Mcdonald striking a deal with coke by not letting pepsi in their stores.... call it anti competitive but look it this way Intel does not violate any laws or whatsoever....

Its all up to the costumers....

I knew there was more to this than meets the eye. What a crock. Check this out:

This stinks to high heaven. Only Intel dual-core chips perform fast enough to enable 10-way conference calls? Absolute garbage. I'm not taking this personally, but AMD sure as hell is, for good reason.

Josh, you were spot on. This will likely help AMD in their case against Intel.

You don't seem to understand. This isn't so much a repost as a followup. Skype is trying to claim, rather erroneously, that AMD processors just aren't capable of 10-way conference calls as a justification for this "business". This is, of course, complete baloney as ribbon indicated. AMD has responded wisely by including this in their case against Intel.

Before it seemed that Skype was just being annoying. Now it's clear that Skype and Intel are skirting the edge, if not crossing the line, on anticompetitive behavior. Business, BrownTown, has rules, and breaking them is a no-no. It would seem that at least AMD's lawyers think they've got something here.

We give a crap because this may make AMD's case against Intel much stronger.

Yea but u all misunderstand, using the trusty benchmark of 1+1=2, it is shown that the pentium D 920 can do this 2 times more per sec than what a fx60 can, and as this will be SO important in real world performance in our program, we have to conclude that the fx60 is teh suxor compared to p-d 920.
