Hey im not sure if im going to overclock or not but if i dont do you all think i should ditch the Stock hsf for something like an Artic cooler freezer 7 pro?

What a huge load of BS.

I've got an E6400 on a MSI P965 Neo overclocked to 2.664GHz (333FSB locked) on stock cooler. It idles at ~38-40C and hardly breaks 50C load. This is with 25C (~76F) room temperatures.

My Freezer 7 has lowered my temps around 7 degrees, but I still idle at maybe 42C. Maybe practice made this install slightly better, maybe it was using Arctic Silver 5 instead of the stock stuff or what came on the Freezer, but while my stock results weren't 72C they weren't as good as Arctic's. Crowded older case, though, limiting free airflow: broke part of the fan cowling off last night moving hard disks around. Still think I needed the upgrade...

Regardless of CPU temps, you can get lower overall case temperatures if your have your case correctly orientated by have the cooler blow the hot air directly to the rear exhaust fan. The stock HSF blow the air towards the motherboard dispersing hot air into the middle of your case. If you want quiet, you'll be able to run the Freezer at a lower fan speed and get the same cooling power as the stock HSF.
