Intel stock HSF on Abit IP35-E

I'm building a new system around Abit IP35-E and E6400 with Intel stock HSF.

I am struggling to get the HSF mounted properly. If I secure the 4 push-pins, it requires a significant strengh and the MB is bent as a result. It does not feel right at all.

At this point I do not have any compound between cpu and HSF.

I read seevral online guides, follow each step carefully. Any tip on this?

Are there cases where the Intel HSF does not fit the MB properly?

Thanks,
Remy

This is normal - the Intel HSF is actually designed for preload (bend) in the PCB.
It's a poor system though with the 4 turning feet.

Unless you are reusing the HSF it should have TIM on it (grey stripes on the base) out of the box.
