Intel Stepping Naming convention

Does Intel always follow alphabetical numberical naming for its Steppings as they advance? For instance, one assumes that a B0 is earlier than a C1, and that a C1 is earlier than a D1, and that a D1 is earlier than an M0. Is that right or do they ever skip around?

Yes, for Pentium 4 desktop processors Intel is consistent with how they name their CPU's steppings. For that matter, 99% of silicon manufacturers on the planet use that same general convention.
