Intel SSD prices for 2010?

Hi everybody,
I've been a bit out of the loop regarding SSD prices - last time I went to buy the Intel X25-M 80 GB drive there wasn't any stock in Canada. First off, has the TRIM firmware issue been resolved?
Secondly, has there been any substantiation to the rumor that there will be another price drop on the drives the first half of this year? The price in Canada has been stable around $300, but I don't want to buy if it is going to be $200 a month from now.

Thanks in advance for all of your input.

I don't know about Canada but I haven't heard any rumors of price drops (which isn't saying much though as I don't hear much.) My gut tells me there will not be any huge drops a month or two from now but there may be in the 2nd half of the year if you are willing to wait till then. Unfortunately, you can play the waiting game forever as prices will always eventually drop. For me, what I always do is determine what I think it's worth paying and then buy when it hits that point. I felt my 160gb G2 is worth ~$400 to me, and bought it at that price when Newegg had that sale over the holidays.

when the Crucial C300 drives become widely available, and intel releases their 300GB drives this year, I wouldn't be surprised if the intel prices went down across the board.

SSD prices are probably determinant on actual NAND prices and demand, which remain relatively high. And certainly the Micron RealSSD C300 will be priced high according to its leading performance. I believe slower performing SSD's will drop in price, but not very substantially.
