Intel SSD Cache Question

So my work PC has a z77 motherboard w/ the Intel SRT SSD caching tech.

I have a 2 TB HD and a 32 GB SSD set up as the cache.

This was actually working great and most of my common used applications - Delphi IDE, Arc GIS and whatnot opened super fast compared to how they would've with just a HDD.

The problem came up is now I have set up an automated backup of my main drive via Duplicati. Since I've done this now I've noticed my applications open much more slowly. My guess is that since its running the backup which is larger than the ssd cache every day, and I leave my programs open for longer than that, the backup is actually being put into the cache (which is not what is wanted).

I tried searching for a solution to this but haven't heard anything. If anyone has a solution that would be great.

Thanks 🙂

I know this is an old thread, but did you try different file size limits for the backup splitting? I think by default it's 10mb, I have mine set to 500mb now, but when I tried making them 2gb a piece it really slowed things down.
