Hi all, wonder if someone can help
I have installed an Intel 520 SSD in my MacBook Pro 5,5. The drive is capable of Sata III (3) and my MBP system is capable of SATA II (2), I understand SATA is all-ways capable. So I had thought a Sata3 drive would run at Sata2 speeds if the controller was Sata2 (I still do think that)
MBP shows Link Speed 3Gigs available (SATAII speeds) but negotiated speed is 1.5G (SATAI speeds).
Is there someone out there with experience of Intel 520 and MBP late 2009 who could help me out?
I notice the Intel Toolbox software, when booted from a CD, doesnt recognise that I have an Intel drive in the system. That too is odd, but I do see some verbage about that sometimes being the case. I would very much like to habe the Intel toolbox seeing the drive. That feels like step 1.
If any clever Mac user has experience of this I would very much appreciate any advice.
