Intel SS4200-E Drive Upgrade and RAID

I bought an Intel SS4200-E when NewEgg had it on ShellShocker. I currently have 2 1TB drives in a ReadyNAS and bought two more to put into the SS4200-E.

I have read that if you put 2 HD's into the 4200-E it sets itself in RAID1 (which makes sense), but I want to ultimately run RAID5 (which requires 4 HD's).

To that end, I ordered 2 more 1TB drives (so I'll have 4 in total), but ideally I'd like to setup the 4200-E w/ 2 HD's. Copy my data from my ReadyNAS over to the 4200-E then wipe the ReadyNAS drives and put those into the 4200-E so it will run RAID5.

Does anyone know if this approach will work? Or do I need to put all my data onto my local drive, wipe the ReadyNAS drives, and then install all 4 at once into my 4200-E?

Thanks.
