Intel se440bx2v mobo-SUPPORT FOR 1GHZ PROCESSORS?

Intel officially has the se440bx2v mobo supporting up to a p-3 850mhz 100fsb processor.I have heard unofficially that this board will support the intel 1ghz 100fsb processor with the most current bios update,which I have.Is this true?Has anyone out there tried this mobo/processor conbination with good results and no problems?Going to be upgrading cpu soon.

I don't see why it shouldn't support the 1 Ghz when it supports the 0.85 Ghz.
