Intel, Samsung and Toshiba join hands to halve chip size.

Heck no IBM is not involved faxon. Its a joint process but its only between Intel, Samsung and Toshiba.

We still got a long way to go 2016 is a long time from now.

dude did you read the article, it specifically says that there are 10 other firms who are going to be invited to participate. my question is simple, is ANYONE who is in the IBM consortium, not ibm themselves specifically, invited. my interest is in if say, global foundries for example, is invited.

I'll be surprised if there is any truth to the initial reporting here. Reuters is quoting "Nikkei Business Daily" as their source.

If the deal was real you'd see Intel, Samsung, and Toshiba announcing it with much fanfare. None of them are. And for a consortia program there is really no value to come from smoke-and-mirrors (unlike a product release)...so my suspicion as to the validity of the original reporting goes up a notch.

would be nice if the end of the world wasnt scheduled at 2012. 😛
