Intel RST Drivers vs. Standard ACHI 1.0 Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L

So I got my Agility 2 60GB SSD up and running. AHCI set in Windows and BIOS. But when I check Device Manager, I don't have the latest Intel ICHX controller entry. So, I did some Googling and found the Intel RST driver download and when I run the *.exe I get an error message that "This computer does not meet the minimum required settings" or something to that effect.

My question, does running the SSD without the latest Intel ver. 9.6.0.1014 driver significantly decrease the performance of the Agility 2?

The GA-P35-DS3L is based on the ICH9 chipset and apparently that is the issue as it needs to be a more recent chipset in order to run the latest Intel RST drivers.

Seems to be running quite fast as-is, but wondered if there really is a noticeable difference with the latest Intel drivers as my other computer is based on a GA-P55M-UD2 mobo.

Thanks, Bill

My ICH9R chipset supports the latest drivers. It boosted my AS SSD scores by about 5, and that's about it. Doesn't do anything that you would notice.
