Hello,
Here is the reason why I would like to uninstall Intel RST:

Before installing Intel RST:
Sequential Read : 213.690 MB/s
Sequential Write : 142.218 MB/s
Random Read 512KB : 202.286 MB/s
Random Write 512KB : 140.481 MB/s
Random Read 4KB (QD=1) : 19.375 MB/s [ 4730.1 IOPS]
Random Write 4KB (QD=1) : 66.102 MB/s [ 16138.3 IOPS]
Random Read 4KB (QD=32) : 115.403 MB/s [ 28174.5 IOPS]
Random Write 4KB (QD=32) : 130.449 MB/s [ 31847.9 IOPS]

Immediately after installing Intel RST:
Sequential Read : 213.603 MB/s
Sequential Write : 79.275 MB/s
Random Read 512KB : 202.883 MB/s
Random Write 512KB : 76.247 MB/s
Random Read 4KB (QD=1) : 20.774 MB/s [ 5071.7 IOPS]
Random Write 4KB (QD=1) : 63.278 MB/s [ 15448.6 IOPS]
Random Read 4KB (QD=32) : 122.708 MB/s [ 29957.9 IOPS]
Random Write 4KB (QD=32) : 76.957 MB/s [ 18788.2 IOPS]

I have tried uninstalling the Intel RST driver, but Windows keeps installing it again automatically. I have tried uninstalling it from Device manager, programs, and removing the console, switching ports on my motherboard, and even doing a fresh install of Windows 7, and using HDDErase on my SSD, but still the Intel Driver is there. It has somehow embedded itself into my computer, and I cannot get rid of it. Here is my computer specs;

i7-760
Gigabyte GA-P55-UD3
4 GB G.Skill 1600
Windows 7 32bit
OCZ Vertex 2 SSD

Any ideas?

That is very odd.... Are you sure you are removing the software as well? Restart without the Internet connected and then check you System Devices to see what is running.

Ok, I think I got it. I reinstalled Windows, this time without the internet connection plugged in as you suggested. I started on the Gsata port for the installation, with AHCI disabled. Then after installation, I did the the registry fix to boot to AHCI, switched to the P55 Intel port on the motherboard, and enabled AHCI in BIOS. With the internet connection still unplugged, Windows installed the generic driver on its own (lists in device manager as "Standard AHCI 1.0 Serial ATA Controller"). Once the controller was installed, I then plugged the internet connection back up, and ran all the Windows updates, and things seems to be back to normal now. I am getting the faster speeds as before, and Windows is not installing the Intel Driver automatically.

Hopefully things will stay this way! Thank you for the suggestion! I think it helped me figure out a solution (though I am still not entirely sure what it was).
