After running rock stable for a few months I'm having some issues iwth my 865GLC motherboard from intel.

I go to the intel website and find you need a log in to get to a bunch of the content.

Ok, I register but then find out as an end user I still don't qualify for a lot of the content.

I purchased the board a few months ago and it has a 3 year waranty. I assumed they would at least talk to me on the phone for free, but no, according to the web site talking to intel costs $25.

I went with intel for features (only matx mb with CSA gig), reliability and support now I am beginning to wish I went with asus or some other vendor that will support what they sell.

Question: What are anandtechians end-user experience with intel support? Is there a trick to talking to them and getting support without pulling out the credit card?

Thanks!

Apparently they don't charge you if they let you RMA the board. Call that number and see what's up, I bet they don't charge you at first.

This is kind of late but I just had problems with my Intel 845PEBT board and they wanted to charge me $25.00 to talk to a tech. I let them know, nicely but firmly that I thought that was horrible business practice and I expected more from intel. I was advised they would let me talk to the tech for free but they emphasized this was a once in a lifetime freebie.
