[ Zap envisioning a hot deal two months from now ]

Fry's ad:
$249.99
Q9650 OEM CPU with ECS GF7050M-T motherboard

Buy combo. Sell mobo for $20 to cover tax. CPU costs $250 out the door. 😀

Thanks to Mwave.com for starting the price drop 2 days ahead of schedule!

Link Fixed

Sweet. When is the actual alleged price drop? I'm buying a mobo/cpu combo this week. 😀 And whether I'm buying new or on the forums, this should help me out......

The price drop should occur Monday the 19th. This is a pretty amazing upgrade for those of us that want to go quad without upgrading our whole system to i7!

Of course, for those of us who don't have either a Fry's or MC B&M near by, it doesn't matter...

(I _do_ have both TD and CUSA B&M locally - aren't I lucky 🙂)

Good deal, but too little too late for those who already have quad core. My 9450 is powerful enough to last me until 32nm Nehalem, by then we should probably see cheaper motherboards and RAM.

Awesome price! Also, found this: http://www.antaresdigital.com/...tid=18058&cat=0&page=1

Q9550, $279, stated as E0

And yes, all Q9650's are E0, the Q9550's can be E0 or C1. (You want the E0)

wonder why the claim "130w." wondering since i have a OCZ Powerstream 520w PSU...would it handle it?

Odd - AFAIK all 9550's are 95W.

Also, the FC2 from the original post appears to be gone. There's a "*While Supplies Last", but nothing I see that the asterisk points at...
