Um

This question doesn't really make any sense. The Pentium D 930 is one of many Pentium Ds available. There are two different kinds of Pentium Ds: Smithfields (designated by having an 8xx series name, like the Pentium D 820) and Preslers (9xx-series Pentium Ds like the 930).

Among the Preslers, the older Preslers consume more power and produce more heat than the latest Preslers. All Preslers consume less power and produce less heat than Smithfields.

Smithfield = bad
Prelser = not as bad

The biggest point in their favor is price. Even a Smithfield is quite tempting at 115-150 bucks.

I don't see any reason to get a Smithfield now when low-end Preslers will probably hit the $150-or-lower mark in July. Hell, they may go that low when AM2 launches, though I doubt it.
