intel pro wireless or windows?

I'm optimizing windows I guess and Intel is an annoying memory hog. Is Windows wireless any better in terms of management or are there still good reasons to stick with the intel software? How do I disable that software entirely?

windows does a decent job with wireless. just be sure you have SP2 installed...you'll thank yourself later for it.

in some options menu in the wireless settings, there is a checkbox that says "let windows configure my wireless settings" or something. you can turn that on or off.

I normally use Windows (assuming XP SP2). But some of the client utilities give you more diagnostic information if you need it. But most people don't care about that as long as the connection works...

does the intelpro give you a greater wireless range? if not, then stick w/Windows.

btw- are there updates to the windows wireless manager since sp2 came out?

i prefer windows. standard, reasonably easy to use, no fluff.

^^ On my home network , it just makes my life that much easier to let WIndows manage it.
