Intel PRO/Wireless 9.1.1.0 released!

Intel has just released the 9.1.1.0 PRO/Wireless Suite for their 2200BG and 2915ABG wifi cards. This release is an impressive jump over the old 8.x.x series (in my honest opinion). The software is much faster and more stable with WinXP SP2 and the UI is a breeze to use. The drivers bring some improvements too as you now have better power management and frame burst support along with 802.11a support for the 2915ABG. Unfortunately, transmit power stays at "Default" for me if I change it (using 2200BG). Perhaps this is a 2915ABG only feature.

Don't be fooled by the 40MB file size as most of it is the help file. With Windows, PRO/Wireless and McAfee AntiVirus my laptop runs at about 100MB memory usage when freshly booted.

Thanks for the heads up. My fiancee has an Intel 2200BG card in her Dell 600M laptop that's always acted a bit flakey with XP SP2. I'll update the drivers tonight.

I have a 600M with the Intel 2200BG and it seems to work pretty well for the most part. Let me know how the update goes.
