Intel price cuts in April - Worth the wait?

I was going to move my current rig (in sig) down to the basement for my theater HTPC and build a new computer for myself. However, after hearing about the price cuts from Intel in April (22nd, right?) I'm not sure if I should wait or not. Do you guys know how drastic these cuts are going to be? Also, I remember reading about a new chip from Intel coming out soon. Any info on this and should I wait for it? I used to have time to read these forums but the last three weeks at work have been the worst. A 9.5 hour shift today was a miracle!

Thanks! :)

Drastic price cut? IMO yes. New CPUs? Yes. What is your CPU budget?

We're talking about stuff like paying the same amount for a 2MB cache chip and getting a 4MB cache version. We're talking $100 less on the E6600, and a few hundred less on the E6700. Quad core for cheap too.

I'm wondering the same thing. I'm planning on grabbing an e4300 once they drop to $133, which I heard is part of the scheduled drop. My HTPC just died on me, though, so it's going to be tough to wait.

You can always build with the CPU in mind, but then buy a Celeron for temporary use. Some places have them under $40 even, which is more than the price cut (plus can always sell it off).
