Intel unveiled a dozen mobile microprocessors on Monday, including some
the company claims are the world's fastest and lowest consumers of power.

wje, not at all. The article mentioned a couple new lines incorportating these new procs. Besides, people refer to Intel's new chips as "paper launches" because they aren't readily available at retail as separate products. There has never been an Intel release where you couldn't get an OEM computer with the newest chip.

The P3-1ghz, arguably Intel's worst launch (the 1.13 doesn't count) in terms of supply, was easily attainable from day 1 from major OEM's like Dell and Compaq, etc. Hell, I went into a local B&M Gateway and they had the P4-2ghz available in systems within 1 or 2 days from launch.
