Intel Pentium Labeling

When i go to websites i always see cpu names like Pentium 4 24c,e,and so on. What do they mean? Along with the P4P800 boards, they have labeling, is there an order from worst to best? please clarify this for me. thanks.

c is northwood
e is prescott
others are williamette etc.
it has to do with the core of the cpu. prescott is the 90nm 800+mhz fsb, northwood is the 130nm 800mhz fsb
