its expensive, and the only difference that i can tell is that its HT enabled on each core otherwise its technically a 840 processor tripled in price, why doesn't it even go to 1066mhz for the FSB?

my 3.73 is 1066, yes i know its single core

there's a very minimal increase in performance from 800mhz to 1066mhz. not really worth stressing over.

i thought there would be noticeable performance boost if you use paired 533mhz DDR2 RAM?

Nope. The lack of a onboard memory controller is really holding back the Pentium dualcores. The move to the 1066FSB would help some but I guess they had singaling and heating issues that kept them from doing that. You can always overclock!

No its becuase the lowest multiplier that Preshotts (sorry but they are) support is 14x
14x266.6=3733
14x200=2800

3200/266.6 = 12 not possiable with the Prescotts.

My 840EE way on $750 for that price in may it was a steal.
I was able toget my FSB past 1066 to hit 3.8 my self on air.

The sad thing is that my $430 Cdn. X2 3800+ @ 2.6 GHz likely is right on par with or better than your 840EE @ 3.8 GHz :D
Intel's EEs have always been an outrageous waste of money, just like AMD's A64 FX series is.

I'm very curious... what "nice deal" would that have been? I can *NEVER* see myself buying an EE.

AMD's FX series might be expensive but that FX-57 is INSANE...and single core performance wise it smacks the sh!t out basically all but the highest clocked single core P4's

the 3.73 EE came in a Gen4 XPS that I bought for about 1800 and it came with a radeon x850xtpe, i sold that and swapped another LGA775 cpu in there for about the same money.

the 3.4EE was longer ago, in a Gen3XPS, same story.

The Dual SLI GTX I got with a XPS 600 for about 1850 in outlet and comes in with a 3.2 640 cpu, i'm selling my Gen5 w/ Radeon X850XT on ebay this week now that I swapped the cpu a few days ago.

AMD already showed Intel they have teh fastest single core CPU with the FX-55. They just made the FX-57 to slap Intel in the face saying "HAHA WE'RE BETTER THAN U! U SUX AT MAKING FAST, COOOL PROCESSERS!!!" Basicly wat every1's saying. AND NO I'm not Biased. I like Intel for space heaters, and AMD for Air Conditioning ;)

It is quite clear the P-D's are extremely bandwidth limited...The 1066fsb model showed better clock for clock performance against the 5xx and 6xx series prescotts...It is conceivable 2 cores will be even more starved for bandwidth...

so those prescotts are not the same? 1066 3.73 is technically a prescott with faster bus?

Not technically, it IS a Prescott with a faster bus.

What was your point besides trolling?

P-D is 800 fsb because the JAB FSB implementation did not allow enough timing slack for 1066.

Hi,

How does your 3.73EE overclock?? What sort of benchies are you getting??
