Intel Pentium 4 HT or AMD X2 3800+

I have a bet with my friend who CLAIMS that his P4 HT is better than mine. I don't know what kind of CPU his P4 is but I know hands down mine is better but he won't believe it cus his GHZ is higher than mine. So this is a poll. WHICH IS BETTER!?!? Thanks for your posts.

wtf you have an X2 3800 and he thinks his p4 is faster than yours? it will basically rape his p4 HT hands down.

tell him AMD scales in mhz differently, and since core 2 duo came out, intel is doing the same thing (mhz scaling).

He isn't in a position to be claiming any such remarks about his CPU since he obviously knows next to nothing about these devices.

He's most likely jealous about your system or something about you/your life so he's found a little something to go poke a needle in you hoping you suffer somewhat, and....get jealous about him and his system etc.

Kids do it all over the world to help tackle jealousy/depression.

That really all depends on what clockspeed your friend's P4 is running. If his single-core P4 is running @ 3.6 Ghz or higher, his will be faster than your non-overclocked 3800 in nearly every non-SMP-enabled application out there. Of course, your dual-core will be faster using any SMP-enabled app, for sure. Oh, and you'd obviously kill him in multi-tasking, but you already knew that, didn't you?

Of course. Main two words are dual core. Lol. His comp isn't overclock either. It's just funny him trying to bet with me that his P4 HT is faster than my AMD X-2. Thanks guys. Greatly appreciate it.

Lol he said currently his is faster than mine cus of the clock speeds. I sent him the link but he said he won't read it yet. Doesn't matter. I know my CPU is faster than his and that's what counts. Other people's opinion doesn't matter.

edit: lol we didn't really bet....he didn't agree to it. lol. but even if it was a bet since we were talking about it over MSN. I would've got like $5 but meh...to lazy

OMG, tell your friend that his CPU is much faster than Conroe too. In fact, tell him he has one of the fastest CPUs on the planet and will continue to do so for a year or two to come!

Then sit back and watch the show as he can't figure out why everyone elses computers do things faster than his.
