Intel Pentium 4 @ 4.7GHz

gj intel, but it seems to me like hyperthreading is more cracked up than it should be. I mean when i play video games, i'm not doing anything in the background so it would be useless to me.

What about OS functions? Running any program in itself is usually multi-tasking as you have multiple things eating from the CPU at a given time; video, sound, etc. It will have a bigger impact that you think, if it is done right 🙂

but what about this performance hit i keep hearing about? Can someone explain exactly what and where hyperthreading will be useful? If it is gonna be mainly for video or photoediting type stuff then it really isn't important to me. Will it get me higher framerates is what I'm really gettin at here.
