Intel Pentium 4 2000?

I was reading the july issue of maximum pc, and I noticed that there was an ad for computers with an intel pentium 4 2000 processor on page 82 of the magazine. Does anyone know if this is something that will be released soon? Hopefully amd will release athlon4 processors that have that many mhz

check the new article on the 1.8GHz p4 on AnandTech it was just posted today... it should give you an idea as well as everything else
but the 2GHz isn't coming out real soon...

Don't look for an retail or oem Athlon4 at 2ghz before 2002.

i read somewhere a P4 2ghz might be released in Q3, but i doubt it, most likely in Q4

My guess is that you'll see 2.0ghz before Q4.

Either way 1.8 GHz and 2.0 GHz P4s are competing very nicely with AMD's high-end processors. It's a shame about the high prices though. 🙁

2ghz is northwood correct?

from what i heard, 2.2 GHz was going to be the starting point for the northwood??? can anyone else comment on this??? im not sure at all, but i remember hearing that somewhere

2GHz should not be northwood... at least not initially... i am sure there will be a 2GHz northwood but this one should still be on the .18 process... there is a lot of headroom in that core...

I thought the regular P4 will end at about 2.0 GHz (maybe 2.2 GHz). The Northwood was supposed to start at 2.0 GHz and scale up quickly from there.
