Is a Intel Pentium 4/ 2.8E compatable with the ASUS P4C800-E mobo? What does the 1 meg cashe mean compared to the Intel Pentium 4/ 2.8C with a 512k cashe. The Intel Pentium 4/ 2.8E
has a Prescot core opposed to the Northwood. Is this good?

Thanks,
CHris.

Northwood is faster, clock for clock.

I'd go for the Northwood personally - it runs cooler and faster at stock speed and often overclocked as well.

Either chip will work with the P4C800-E, although again I'd recommend an Abit IC7 series motherboard instead.

Agreed with jiffy. But either way Asus makes a fine Intel board as well as Abit.

Get the northwood if you have the choice.
