Intel P4 CPU pin broke off

The pin got bent and I tried straigting it and broke off. I turn on the computer and seems to work fine. Should I be in trouble?

Well if it works fine with the broken pin, you are probably fine. A lot of pins are just ground pins or voltage pins that won't kill the cpu if broken.

Have to agree, there a lot of pins thrown in there for core changes and upgrades. If all is working well then.... There is a pin chart some where on the web, do a search and find out what pin it was!

Yep I broke a pin on my old P4 2A, it worked like a charm even after. I Oced the SOB to 2.8 GHz!!

It's no problem. You just use 7 bits from then on. Or, like, 14 or something.

Well it's 6 bits if you break off two pins. Then you can't add any numbers bigger than 64.

I dont get why breaking grounding pins would lead to less processing.

I guess I better keep my day job. The stand-up thing isn't going so well.
