Intel p4 2.4ghz running too hot

When idling my cpu temp is about 48-50 C, when gaming it jumps to about 56-57 C. Am i correct in saying that this is too hot. I have a Zalman CU....something (the one that looks like a flower) applied with arctic silver 5 and this is the temp. Any suggestions?

It's just fine. Your CPU is fine as long as your system ist stable. Start worrying when it gets over 70C. I think Intel says the max temp is 80C or 85C, not sure which one it is.
Btw the ultra-silent PCs out there are often idling 65C or even more and they're fine. I am idling 60C and for gaming I turn up the fan a bit so I get load of 60C as well.
