Intel overclock?

Do you think intel will ever allow their boreds to be overclocked? And is it normal to see my 1.6 to be shown as 1589 or 1595Mhz on a intel mobo?

No, that would defeat their pricing scheme. Why would you pay top dollar for a 2.8GHz CPU when you could oc a 1.8GHz for less than half the cost.

edit: I bet Intel engineers have custom boards they can play with

While it has never been Intel's practice to manufacture an enthusiast's board, times maybe changing. I found this as part of Anand's reviews of the new 845PE based motherboards. It's Intel's first attempt at an enthusiast's board.

They don't unlock their CPUs for overclocking (thank god for FSB adjustments), same goes for the mobos.
