I don't think WoW is too demanding for the CPU. If you're really strapped, I bet it runs well enough with a used AthlonXP for $50-65 off FS/FT or eBay and a board like the Shuttle AN35 Ultra. That's just over $100 for both. Intel isn't too far off in price if you go with a Celeron D, but it is a little more expensive and you end up having to go VIA on the chipset to stay in that price range. I think most here would agree that the Tbred-B + nForce2 is the best value of those two options.

Moving up to the S754 is an option with either an A64 2800+ or a Sempr0n 3100+, but the cost is closer to $200 there. I certainly wouldn't consider anything more than an A64 2800+ . If you decide to go that route I suggest checking mwave.com. The Chaintech vnf3-250 bundle with a 2800+ has dropped below $200 now (before shipping). The Sempron 3100+ is only $8 difference so if you're doing that, spend the extra $8 and get the A64 instead of the Sempron

you can get an A64 for the price you'd pay for a Intel prescott CPU. A64 runs cooler and is more efficient.

But what exactly is your budget?
