Intel on 3DMark03: "...nice synthetic benchmark for gaming"

I dont know what Nvidia`s mission is these days. Either they are honest and say they have messed up their release plan in competition to ATI (and tell us e.g. they will have something real up their sleeve either now or in a few months), or they will lose the confidence in all their high-end card buyers. They should either shut up, or get their act together. I know driver updates cant change everything, but at least they shouldnt badmouth the ongoing graphics development that has gone past them. Respect to ATI getting them in this position (although i am on a g44600).

3dMark... it is what it is. And version 2003 is no different.

Intel is right on the money here... It's a nice synthetic benchmark for gaming. It's not the "end all, be all" performance evaluator. Just because one cpu or gpu performs better in it than another, doesn't mean that it is the superior piece of hardware.

But that's really no different than any previous version of 3dMark, imho.

It's not the hi-end they are annoyed about. FX supports the features 3DMark03 tests. They are annoyed because 03 clearly reminds everyone that while Ati's entire lineup supports DX9 (with exception to 9100) and PS1.4, NV's mainstream products are DX8 (with large part of those (The MX-series) still at DX7!)! they are annoyed because 03 reminds them of their lazyness.
