Intel NUC as an iTunes Media Server

I'm right now using an Intel NUC 6i3SYH dedicated as an iTunes media server to serve to my Apple TV. I'm also using a trial version of iHomeServer so iTunes can behave like a service running in the background in Windows rather than an app I have to manually close when I'm done even if I set it to autostart during Windows startup or else I lose resume points in a movies if I just shut down my PC while iTunes is still running. However I still did get a resume point deleted in a movie I was watching after I shut down my PC with iHomeServer installed but at least most of the time my resume points in movies are still there without having to manually close iTunes if I have iHomeServer installed. For the operating system I'm using Windows 10 Home. Do resume points sometimes get lost with iTunes running on a Mac for home sharing as well?
