Intel Now Says Mid Feb For Chipset Avail

Looks like they will continue using the existing parts for stuff like embedded and SFF systems where you would only need the two unaffected SATA ports.

If so, that's actually smart of them. Instead of outright writing off the whole inventory they can have at least some return. Investors must be sighing in relief.

Yeah it makes sense. Just kill the other ports and mark the affected units down in price and feature set, sell them in different markets.
 
how is this different? I thought it was established that end of March / sometime April before endusers could get new products/motherboards? IIRC, the manufacturers need about a month to produce the product after they receive shipment from intel...so this seems in line with what has been said all along...

and that is a nice gesture from tigerdirect.

so wheres everything being made at, and all the new chips need to be shipped overseas?? or are the intel chips already being made over seas?
