I've been an AMD user for a few years now..started with the K6...then K7 Slot A....then Duron....and now I'm on a Tbird. Now my 900 is feeling slow and I'm feeling the need for an upgrade and it seems like the Northwood is the best choice because it's kinda cheap and the overclocking ability seems to give the best bang for the buck. But as an AMD user I have no idea what to look for in a motherboard. 850? 845D? RDRAM or DDR? Anyone care to give me a little help in choosing a motherboard suited for overclocking? I watercool my rig so one with higher voltages would be cool although I don't even know what normal is for the Northwood. Or maybe I should just stick with AMD and go XP/KT266A?

Thanks for the help,

i850 mobo+ abit th7II and asus p4t-e rdram

i845 asus p4b266 and p4266-c ddr

all are good for overclocking and run cool

personally i would go with 1.6a th7II (also comes in raid flavor) and rdram

the athlon choice is also a good one but best bang would be northwood at least for now;)

hope this helps
