I am looking to build a new pc with a p4 3.0E Ghz 800FSB, 1MB l2 cache proc. PC3200 512 Kingston value ram, Radeon 9800Pro AGP.
I need to select a motherboard which offers reliability, stability and flexibility for upgradation.
The two selections I have in mind are Intel 865Perl and Asus P4P800E Deluxe.
I am told by a hardware dealer that Intel offers more stability and reliability but doesn't supports overclocking on its boards. I however, do want mild overclocking abilites from the mobo. Also, he told me that Asus boards are not very reliable and they often give errors and problems with various hardware.
I want opinions from people regarding which would be the better buy supported with reasons.
Also could someone tell me about how the above mentioned boards compete against eachother in some reviews or comparison tests.
I would like to buy the board that would give me better performance and will atleast last me for 3-4 years. Also it should have good support as in drivers, BIOS's, etc.
Please reply and tothose who do, thanks.
