I've just tried running the Intel Memory Latency checker v3.9a on my AMD X570 5800X and I'm wondering if I'm doing it right. I've seen some 12900K runs and the numbers are vastly different which makes me wonder if I'm running it right and if not what am I doing wrong: so I can make a direct comparison.
First, I'm getting a little pre-run notification while running it on both my AMD 5800X machine and my i7 970 machine which leads me to believe I'm not running it correctly. At the start of the test, on both machines, it says:
*** Unable to access mlcdrv.sys to modify prefetchers
*** So, enabling random access for latency measurements
The mlcdrv.sys file is in the same folder as the exe.
Am I running the test correctly? The comparison runs that others have do not have the notification above.
Thanks for your time
EDIT: 5800X run
Win10 5800X 32GB 1333/2666 1:1 CMD 1T GDM disabled 14.14.14.14.28
