Intel Matrix Storage Manager, RAID, Encryption and TPM?

I noticed something interesting on the BIOS screen on the first page of Anand's new SSD article.

"* = Data is Encrypted"

I've mused and wanted Intel to add encryption support to their RAID, and now it looks like they have!

Does anyone have any more info about this, and how you would go about setting up an encrypted RAID5? And even if you can encrypt the boot drive, and have the BIOS prompt you for a password upon bootup.

I specifically DON'T want to use a TPM module, as I would trust a password in my wetware to get hacked less than a TPM module, that probably has backdoors.

Has anyone messed with this? I don't even know if I have that option in my BIOS, my boards only have ICH9R, not 10R. It would be a shame if that feature was limited to 10R chipset, or even only X58 mobos like Anand's.

Edit: I found an unrelated but interesting article on drive encryption:
