Intel Iris Pro on 65-W TDP: availability?

Intel processors with Iris Pro Graphics (P)580 with 65-W TDP: Core i5-6585R, 6685R, i7-6785R, Xeon E3-1585 v5. Iris Pro is also available in 35 and 45-W products, but my experience with Core i7-4710HQ taught me simultaneously using the CPU and GPU will exceed TDP rating and throttle the processor.

I looked up Broadwell Core i7-5775R and Google returned expensive barebones mini computers. I looked up Xeon E3-1585 v5 and Google returned Supermicro X11SSV-M4F. I looked up the Core processors and Google returned articles about their release. Is that it for Iris Pro high-power?
 
If you check out the i7-5775C, you will see it is unlocked. Mine has power unlocked and never throttles. it is about a 125w cpu at 4.2ghz maximum load.

Also your 4710HQ is probably throttling with Turboboost ON. Disable Turboboost in Windows or get ThrottleStop. This will allocate far more power to the GPU.
 
I flirted with the idea of picking up a skull canyon nuc
it has the skylake iris pro. Also the apple laptops have one I believe if you fork out the money.
Skull canyon is not bad if it offers everything you want and you've got about $1000 after adding memory+ssd. From what I've heard the edram in the skylake one is more than just an eviction cache, so should be slightly better than the previous ones.

I decided not to do it because I really want a workstation, not a laptop or mini pc.

Do you mean any i7-5775C will be like that?
Any operation needed to make it not throttle?

Out of the box, the 5775c will throttle to stay within 65w. in my motherboard''s BIOS, I override all those settings, letting the CPU consume as much power as it needs.
 
For Z97 Broadwell, Asus and MSI have the best support out there. Any z97 from those brands will allow to tweak settings to avoid throttling. I have the Z97M Gaming with the 5775c oced to 4.1/3.7GHz no throttling with auto settings.

AFAIK, K-series and X99 CPUs are not power limited, and will only temperature throttle (although they might not sustain max turbo on all cores at stock). TDP is there as a guideline, not a hard limit. This is different for =<65W CPUs, as these are meant for smaller form factors where excessive power usage is a problem.
