Hi fellas,

Hdd Tach Results Intel vs Jmicron
Blue is Jmicron. Red is intel. Board is a P35C-DS3R v1.1. Hard disks are two samsung HD501LJ 500GB SataII.

Is the burst speed important? I even see less dips in the Jmicron controller. Another thing: The intel "veryfies and repairs" with a high frequency, making the system very slow.

I read the Jmicron is linked directly to the PCI-E bus. Maybe that makes up for some gains.

Anyone knows about the "split seek" feature in these controllers?
¿Any word about the results?

Thanks

Interesting results. I had always thought that the Intel onboard raid usually performed better than the JMicrons. Are you using updated intel drivers?

This might be a good idea for someone else to check. IF this holds to be true, i might have to switch my raid drives to the jmicron controller.

If a power faliure occurs while you have write back cache enabled, data corruption may happen if the data on the disk cache has not been flushed out to the disk media
